Paper - All flax and/or hemp from Frog Mill (water powered stamper)
Sewing - Melody’s homespun flax on 88 Clarkson cord
Trim - Plough and scraper, bone burnish
Boards - Air dried, quarter split Idaho Yew - totally by hand
Endbands - Melody’s homespun flax
Covering - Our neighbor, Elizabeth Taylor who is a farmer and friend, tanned a deer hide, made moccasins and wore them for three years. I then got the tops to make book spines. The leather is traditional native brain (oil) tanned deer - known for its durability by natives and pioneers alike.
