This was a practice piece to see if I’d “cut out” enough oil for it to stick, in preparation to cover a book for University of Iowa. I decided to “cut out” a little more oil - hence a secondary stitch through the spine. The reason I call it Hit and Run is because it was accidentally run over by my former apprentice’s car, but received no real damage except “a scratch” on the surface of the leather.
