Materials

Paper - Old Ways class paper. Made from primarily cotton futon stuffing, blue jeans, blotters, and abaca. Made the old way, including loft drying spurs and many are gelatine sized, then loft dried in spurs.

Sewing - Pack sewn on double raised cords, using Melody’s homespun flax thread on 88 Clarkson cord

Trim - Head: Plough trimmed; Tail: Drawknife trimmed fore edge - carved out deckles for clasps

Boards - Quarter split air dried Indiana Hickory from burn pile at pallet mill - then bandsawn and machine planed, then worked totally by hand.

Clasps - Flush rivets 18 gauge brass

Covering - Veg. tanned goat skin from Pergamena (NY)

Endbands - Back beveled spine - Melody’s homespun flax
